Cadboro Bay

Cadboro Bay is an inner-protected bay on the eastern edge of Victoria, British Columbia, sheltered by Ten Mile Point and Cadboro Point within DFO subarea 19-4. The bay holds a mixed bottom of sand, eelgrass, and scattered rock that transitions from shallow flats near shore out to deeper water, with fishable ground running roughly 15 to 80 feet. Kelp Greenling hold along the rockier margins through the summer and into early fall, while Dungeness Crab work the softer bottom through the warmer months. Flounder and sole spread across the sand and mud flats, concentrating in the shallower reaches of the bay. The protected exposure keeps conditions workable when outer waters get pushed around by wind and tide.
