ReelCaster

About

ReelCaster exists to take the guesswork out of fishing. We fold tides, weather, water, and regulations into one honest score for every spot, species, and hour, so you spend your time on the water when it actually counts, not cross-referencing five apps before you leave the dock.

Our story

Built by anglers, for anglers.

We got tired of cross-referencing tide tables, wind apps, and regulation PDFs before every trip, and still guessing. So we built one honest score for the water we fish.

On the water now

Where we’re covering.

ReelCaster starts where we fish and grows city by city. Every new area is seeded with local spots and reviewed before it goes live. Coverage grows carefully, not all at once.

The method

How the score works.

01

One score

Tides, weather, water, and regulations distilled into a single 0-100 number for each spot and species.

02

Every spot

Computed for the actual bank, point, or channel you fish, on nautical-chart bathymetry rather than a weather grid.

03

Regulation-aware

DFO openings and closures are baked into the score, so it never sends you somewhere you can’t fish.

Where to find us

ReelCaster is a website, not an app.

Today there is no ReelCaster app in the App Store or Google Play, and nothing to download. ReelCaster runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer at www.reelcaster.com. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app, with the same map, scores and alerts.

ReelCaster is not related to Reelcast or any other app with a similar name. If something calls itself a ReelCaster app or asks you to install one, it is not us. If we ever release an app of our own, you will read about it here first and it will link from www.reelcaster.com.
