Edye Passage is a tidal channel in the waters near Prince Rupert, British Columbia, with working depths between 50 and 200 feet over mixed bottom and current-swept structure. Pacific Halibut hold along the deeper edges from April through August, while Chinook Salmon push through in two windows spanning February to April and April to July, followed by Coho Salmon from May into September. Downrigger trolling with whole herring, anchovy in teaser heads, and hootchies behind flashers covers the salmon column efficiently through the passage's moving water. Halibut anglers work the same ground with drift jigging using leadhead jigs and heavy metal jigs, switching to bait fishing on anchor with whole herring, salmon heads, or octopus when the drift slows. Tide changes concentrate bait against the structure here, tightening the bite windows for both salmon and bottomfish.

Edye Passage is one of the spots we track around Prince Rupert. See every scored spot in British Columbia.
