Hutt Island is a mid-exposure rocky pinnacle in DFO subarea 28-1, rising off the Vancouver coastline at 49.4463, -123.3978 and holding fish across a working depth band of 40 to 120 feet. Lingcod are the headline draw from November through April, while aggregate rockfish stay accessible year-round on the same structure. Jigging the pinnacle with leadhead jigs and swimbaits, metal jigs, or bucktail jigs covers both species efficiently, with anglers working the jig close to the rock where lingcod ambush from ledges. Drifting live greenling, pile perch, or herring over the high points targets larger lingcod, and mooching whole herring or anchovy through the mid-column produces on softer tide stages. Slack and early-flood windows fish best here, as strong currents around the pinnacle push bait off the structure at peak flow.
