Race Rocks is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle in DFO subarea 19-3 off Cowichan, British Columbia, with structure rising through depths of roughly 15 to 130 feet. The pinnacle holds Lingcod, which peak from June through August, alongside Chinook Salmon that run strongest from June into September. Anglers work the rock for Lingcod by jigging swimbaits, metal jigs, and bucktail jigs over the structure, and drift live greenling, small rockfish, or herring across the deeper edges. Chinook fishing centers on downrigger trolling with anchovy in a teaser head, hootchies, trolling spoons, and flashers, while mooching cut-plug or whole herring covers the water column when fish hold higher. The exposed position and hard rock bottom concentrate baitfish and predators through the summer window.

Race Rocks is one of the spots we track around Victoria. See every scored spot in British Columbia.
