West Vancouver Shoreline

The West Vancouver Shoreline runs along the inner protected waters of Burrard Inlet within DFO subarea 28-9, offering a mixed-bottom nearshore fishery in 10 to 60 feet of water. Chinook Salmon are the primary draw from June through August, with Coho Salmon overlapping and extending the run from June into September. Downrigger trolling dominates here, working anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, trolling spoons, and flashers along the shoreline contours where salmon track baitfish. Anglers targeting Chinook also mooch cut plug or whole herring closer to bottom structure, while Coho respond to bucktail flies skimmed near the surface and small casting spoons retrieved through feeding pods. Tide movement along the inlet edge concentrates bait against the drop, making the shallower band inside 40 feet productive during active flows.
