Willis Point is a mid-exposure bay near Sidney, British Columbia, sitting over mixed bottom in DFO subarea 19-8 with depths running from 35 to 165 feet. The spot holds Chinook Salmon through a summer peak from June to August, alongside shrimp and prawn in the deeper water. Downrigger trolling works the salmon here, pulling anchovy in a teaser head, trolling spoons, hootchies, and flashers across the depth range. Mooching with cut-plug or whole herring and jigging with metal jigs both cover the same water when fish sit closer to structure. The mixed bottom and variable depth let anglers adjust their gear down toward the 165-foot mark as conditions shift.
