Edye Passage is a tidal channel in the waters north of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, with working depths from 60 to 350 feet over mixed rock and gravel bottom. Chinook Salmon push through in two waves, peaking February through April and again April through July, while Coho Salmon fill in from May through September and Pacific Halibut hold along the deeper edges from April through August. Rockfish concentrate on the structure through the February to July window, taking metal jigs and leadhead jigs with soft plastics worked close to the bottom. Downrigger trolling with whole herring, anchovy in teaser heads, and trolling spoons covers the salmon column, and mooching cut-plug herring works the tide seams for Chinook. Halibut anglers drift jig heavy metal jigs and swimbaits across the deeper flats or set whole herring and octopus on anchor.
