Hole in the Wall is a rocky mid-exposure mark off West Vancouver's shoreline in DFO subarea 28-2, where structure drops through the 20 to 80 foot range and holds bait against the rock. Chinook Salmon are the primary target, with the window peaking from June through August as fish stage along the shelf. Downrigger trolling is the dominant approach here, working anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, or trolling spoons behind flashers tight to the contour. Mooching cut plug or whole herring accounts for fish holding closer to the rock, and jigging metal jigs or soft plastic swimbaits works when Chinook pin bait against the structure. Tide movement across the rocky edge concentrates the bite, and staying on the productive depth band matters more than covering water.
