Batt Rock is a rocky pinnacle in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, rising through mid-exposure water with depths spanning 35 to 180 feet. The structure holds a strong groundfish population, with Lingcod peaking February through April and Black Rockfish available from February into October, alongside Copper and Quillback Rockfish that hold to the rock year-round. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, while the same jigging approach with soft plastic swimbaits produces on Black and Copper Rockfish near the bottom structure. Pacific Halibut move through the deeper margins from March into August, taken on drift-jigged metal jigs or herring worked along the base of the rock. Chinook Salmon run May through August and Coho from June into October, both targeted by trolling herring, hootchies, and spoons over the pinnacle.
