About Deep Ridge

Deep Ridge is a rock pinnacle in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, sitting within DFO subarea 18-3 at mid exposure with depths running from the surface down to 220 feet. The structure holds a strong groundfish population, with Lingcod peaking February through April and Copper Rockfish available year-round alongside Canary Rockfish, Bocaccio, and Pacific Cod. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August, when trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, or spoons works over and around the pinnacle. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or to bait fishing with live greenling, whole herring, or squid worked close to the rock. For rockfish, drop metal jigs or leadhead jigs with soft plastics down the pinnacle's steeper faces, or fish herring and cut bait along the bottom.
