The Hump 2.0 km N of Edith Point is a rocky pinnacle in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, rising from a mid-exposure bottom that runs 165 to 495 feet deep. Lingcod hold tight to the structure here and peak from February through April, while Pacific Halibut work the deeper margins from March into August. The pinnacle also holds Quillback, Rougheye, Canary Rockfish, and Pacific Cod, with Chinook Salmon moving through May to August and Coho building from June into October. Anglers jig metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the rock for Lingcod, or drop live greenling, whole herring, and squid on bait. For Halibut, drift jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and soft plastics, or herring covers the deeper water, while Chinook and Coho respond to trolled spoons, hootchies, and cut-plug herring worked along the structure.
