Scott Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off in British Columbia's Gulf Islands, where the bottom falls away steeply through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from May through August and Coho Salmon from June through October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and trolling spoons along the edge of the structure. Lingcod hold on the rock between February and April and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, while Pacific Halibut move through from March to August and take drift-jigged metal jigs or herring worked near the bottom. Black Rockfish stay active from February through October across the drop-off and come readily to jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastic swimbaits. The steep contour and exposed position concentrate fish along the break, where working the deeper edges through moving tide keeps baits in the strike zone.
