Selby Point is a rock drop-off in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, falling through mid-exposure water from roughly 260 to 660 feet. The steep structure holds Chinook Salmon from May through August and Coho Salmon from June into October, both worked most effectively by trolling spoons, hootchies, or cut-plug herring along the edge. Deeper down, Pacific Halibut peak from March through August and respond to drift jigging with metal jigs or leadhead jigs tipped with soft plastics, while Lingcod stack up over the rock from February to April and take metal jigs and swimbaits. The same hard bottom supports Black Rockfish through the long February-to-October window and Copper Rockfish year-round, both reached by jigging leadheads and swimbaits close to the structure. The pronounced depth change concentrates fish along the break, rewarding anglers who work jigs tight to the drop.
