Hump 1.4 km NE of Heard Island is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer exposed waters off Port Hardy, British Columbia, with fishable depths running from 150 to 410 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through August, alongside Lingcod peaking May through August and Chinook Salmon over the same late-spring-to-summer window. Rockfish species including Pacific Ocean Perch, Silvergray Rockfish, and Rougheye Rockfish work the rock alongside Sablefish across the deeper contours. Halibut respond to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid across the pinnacle's base, while jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits covers both halibut and the lingcod tight to the rock. Chinook come to trolled anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies in the exposed current lines above the hump.
