Holliday Island sits in the waters off Prince Rupert, British Columbia, offering rocky structure and drop-offs that hold fish between 50 and 180 feet. Lingcod dominate the bottom fishery from February through July, while Pacific Halibut move through the deeper edges from April into August. Chinook Salmon run in two distinct windows, February to April and again April through July, and Coho Salmon follow from May into September. Anglers work the depth breaks with leadhead jigs and metal jigs for lingcod, and drift jigging with heavy metal jigs or swimbaits over the same ground for halibut. Salmon fishing centers on downrigger trolling with whole herring, anchovy in teaser heads, and trolling spoons through the tide lines that sweep past the island.
