Florencia Islet sits off Ucluelet, British Columbia, where an exposed outer-coast drop-off falls across rocky bottom into depths of 330 to 1,310 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon peaking May through August and Coho Salmon running May through September, with both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons over the edge. Pacific Halibut work the deeper rock from April into August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs, while bottom bait fishing with whole herring and salmon heads covers the same ground. Lingcod concentrate on the shallower rock in the spring peak of March through May, where jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits reaches fish tight to the structure. Pacific Cod, Sablefish, and Spiny Dogfish round out the mixed bottom catch along this exposed break.
