Sutton Rock is an exposed pinnacle off Ucluelet, British Columbia, where rocky structure rises through water from the surface to about 60 feet. The rock holds lingcod, which peak from March through May, alongside quillback rockfish that stay active year-round and Pacific halibut that concentrate from April through August. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the pinnacle, while quillback take the same jigs and soft plastic swimbaits over the rock. Halibut hold nearer the base and bottom, where drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs covers the deeper edges. Chinook salmon move through from May to August and Coho from May to September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons across the exposed outer water.
