T10 Buoy marks a protected inner flat off Vancouver, British Columbia, where a soft mud bottom drops through depths of 120 to 180 feet. The spot holds Chinook Salmon through their June to August peak and Coho Salmon from June into September. Downrigger trolling covers the flat efficiently here, working whole herring, anchovy, trolling spoons, and hootchies down the water column to reach fish holding over the mud. Mooching with cut-plug herring and jigging with metal jigs both suit the deeper end of the range when Chinook settle near the bottom. For Coho, trolling spoons and flashers along with bucktailing over the flat match the fish that stay higher in the column through late summer.
