STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Hump 1.0 km E of Cliffe Point is a rocky pinnacle in the outer, exposed waters off Winter Harbour, rising through a depth range of 25 to 340 feet. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from February through April and again from June through August, alongside black rockfish that stack up from May into September and steady numbers of copper and canary rockfish. Pacific halibut work the deeper flanks from May through August, while Chinook salmon pass through from April to August and coho build from May into September. Anglers target lingcod and rockfish over the pinnacle with metal jigs and leadhead jigs tipped with soft plastic swimbaits, dropping down to the rock and working the up-current edges. For halibut, drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits covers the deeper bottom, and salmon respond to trolling anchovy, herring, and spoons through the exposed water around the high spot.
