Hump 1.3 km E of Gillam Islands is a rock pinnacle rising off the outer exposed coast near Winter Harbour, British Columbia, with depths running from 185 to 455 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut through their May to August peak and Lingcod across their spring and summer windows in February to April and June to August, while Chinook Salmon move through from April to August. Rougheye Rockfish, Darkblotched Rockfish, and Sablefish also occupy the deeper rock along the pinnacle. Halibut respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs, swimbaits, or metal jigs over the bottom, with herring, salmon bellies, or octopus on bottom bait rigs as a backup. Lingcod hold tight to the rock structure and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs with soft plastics, or swimbaits worked near the pinnacle, while Chinook are targeted by trolling anchovy, herring, hoochies, or spoons through the exposed water above.
