Caspar Anchorage Hump is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off Fort Bragg, rising through depths of 25 to 95 feet. The structure holds aggregate rockfish, which peak from April through September, alongside lingcod that run strongest in January and February and again from August into September. Anglers work the rock with bottom fishing using shrimp flies, squid strips, and metal jigs for rockfish, while jigging metal jigs and swimbaits over the high points targets lingcod. Cabezon hold to the same rock and take squid, shrimp, and crab on the bottom through their spring and fall peaks, and Chinook salmon move through from April to September, taken by trolling anchovies, herring, and spoons above the structure. The exposed pinnacle and 25-to-95-foot range reward drifting the edges and holding position over the tallest rock.
