STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Hump 2.7 km NW of Spanish Bay is a rocky pinnacle off Monterey, rising from an outer, exposed stretch of coast where depths run 80 to 180 feet over hard structure. The rock holds Copper Rockfish through their Jul–Sep peak, alongside Canary Rockfish and California Sheephead. Lingcod work the same pinnacle with peaks in Nov–Jan, Mar–May, and Sep–Oct, while Chinook Salmon move through from Mar into Jul. Anglers target the rockfish with bait fishing using squid, shrimp flies, anchovies, or sardines, and switch to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs for lingcod holding tight to the rock. Chinook are taken on the troll with anchovies, spoons, hoochies, and flashers over the deeper edges of the structure.
