SPOT PROFILE
About Harbor Point
Harbor Point is an outer, exposed rock drop-off off Miami, Florida, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Common Snook and Gray Snapper peak here from May through July, while Tarpon hit their stride earlier, from March through May. The rocky edge holds Gray Snapper for bottom fishing with cut bait, live shrimp, live pilchards and squid, and chumming and freelining with glass minnows works the same structure. Snook and Tarpon respond to live bait drifting along the face of the drop, with live pilchards and live mullet as the standard offerings for both. Sheepshead and Crevalle Jack round out the species mix over the hard bottom.
