About Palma Sola Causeway
Palma Sola Causeway is a beach-lined stretch of shoreline in the Sarasota Bay region of Florida's Gulf state waters, giving anglers direct wade and bank access to the bay. Sheepshead lead the winter action from December through March, and anglers target them with bottom fishing using live shrimp, fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or oysters. Common Snook take over from May through July, when live bait fishing with live pilchards, live pinfish, or live threadfin herring draws strikes along the sandy edges. Red Drum peak in September and October and reward sight casting with gold spoons or soft plastic jerkbaits to fish cruising the shallows. Spotted Seatrout run strongest in March, April, and October, and a popping cork rigged with live shrimp works the nearby water effectively.
