The Hump at 46.05703, -124.08868 is a rocky pinnacle rising from 100 to 120 feet of water off Astoria, Oregon, sitting in an outer, exposed position where current sweeps over hard structure. Pacific Halibut hold here through the March-to-August peak, while Lingcod turn on from January through March and aggregate Rockfish stay active from April into September. Chinook Salmon move through in two windows, March-to-April and May-to-September, with Coho following from July through October. Drift fishing herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus works the halibut over the rock, and jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits covers both Lingcod and Rockfish along the pinnacle's edges. For salmon passing through the water column, trolling cut-plug or whole herring, anchovy, and flashers matches the depth and exposure of this outer structure.
