Hump 3.8 km W of West Point is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer, exposed waters off Astoria, Oregon, with depths running from 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut through their March–August peak and Lingcod that concentrate from January through March, while aggregate Rockfish stack up over the rock from April into September. Anglers drift herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus for halibut, and work metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs across the pinnacle for lingcod and rockfish. Chinook Salmon move through with peaks in March–April and again from May into September, followed by Coho from July through October, both taken by trolling cut-plug or whole herring behind flashers. The depth and hard bottom also support Pacific Cod and Sablefish, making the hump a productive year-round mark.
