Tillamook Rock is an exposed offshore drop-off of rocky bottom off Astoria, Oregon, where depths run from 30 to 150 feet. Chinook Salmon hold as the primary target, with peaks in March through April and again from May through September, while Coho Salmon move through from July into October. The rocky structure also supports Lingcod, best from January through March, alongside Canary, Yellowtail, and Blue Rockfish, and Pacific Halibut peaks from March through August. Anglers troll cut-plug herring, whole herring, or anchovy behind flashers for Chinook and switch to trolling spoons or flashers with hoochies for Coho. Over the rock, jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits works for Lingcod, and drift fishing herring, salmon bellies, or squid along the drop-off targets halibut in deeper water.
