Kellys Point is a rock drop-off in Bellingham waters within DFO subarea 7, dropping through mid-exposure depths of roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from June through October, with downrigger trolling for Chinook using whole herring, spoons, hoochies, and flashers, and trolling flashers and cut-plug herring for Coho along the structure. Lingcod hold on the rock through two windows, November to February and March to June, and respond to leadhead jigs with swimbaits, metal jigs, and bucktail jigs worked near the bottom. Pacific Halibut move onto the deeper edges from April through August, taken by drifting herring, squid, salmon bellies, and octopus. Black Rockfish and Kelp Greenling fill out the summer fishing over the same rock, with jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs producing through the peak months.
