William Point is a rock drop-off in DFO subarea 7 off Bellingham, Washington, dropping through mid-exposure water from 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, while Pacific Halibut move through from April to August across the deeper margins. Chinook fishing centers on downrigger trolling with whole herring, trolling spoons, hoochies, and flashers, with mooching cut-plug herring working the same edges. Halibut respond to drifting herring, squid, salmon bellies, or octopus along the base of the drop, and the rock bottom supports Lingcod on metal and leadhead jigs during their November-through-February and March-through-June windows. Black Rockfish stack up over the same structure in summer, peaking June through August and taking metal jigs and swimbaits.
