I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

SPOT PROFILE

STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Outer Exposed

Point Evans is an outer-exposed drop-off in Tacoma, Washington, within Marine Area 11, where mixed bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The steep contour draws Chinook Salmon through their June to September peak and Coho Salmon from July into October, with Chum Salmon staging over the same water from September to December. Halibut hold along the deeper bottom during the March to August window, while Lingcod concentrate on the structure from March through June and Black Rockfish work the drop year-round. Trolling cut-plug herring, flashers, and trolling spoons covers the salmon along the edge, and mooching whole herring works the same runs as fish stack against the tide. For the resident bottom species, drift jigging leadhead jigs with swimbaits over the deep contour reaches halibut, while metal jigs and swimbaits stay effective on Lingcod and Black Rockfish across the mixed structure.
