Carroll Island is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off La Push, Washington, where structure rises through depths of 50 to 105 feet. The pinnacle holds Chinook Salmon from April through August and Coho Salmon from May into September, with Chinook worked by trolling whole herring, flashers, and trolling spoons over the rock, or by mooching cut-plug herring along the edges. Lingcod stack tight to the pinnacle and peak from February through April, taken by jigging metal jigs and swimbaits or dropping live greenling into the structure. Pacific Halibut move through from April to August and hold near the base, where drift fishing whole herring, salmon bellies, or octopus works the deeper end of the range. Rockfish, Pacific Cod, Sablefish, Sixgill Shark, and Spiny Dogfish round out the mix over this exposed rock bottom.
