The Carroll Island Hump is a rocky pinnacle off La Push, Washington, rising from an outer-exposed seabed that runs 50 to 105 feet deep. The structure holds resident lingcod, which peak from February through April, alongside a mix of canary, china, quillback, and bronzespotted rockfish, plus Pacific cod. Pacific halibut move through from April to August, worked with drift fishing using whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid over the rock. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or live bait fishing with greenling and herring across the pinnacle's edges. Chinook salmon run April through August and coho from May through September, both taken by trolling flashers, spoons, and hoochies through the exposed water above the structure.
