Foot Rock is an exposed offshore pinnacle rising from rocky bottom off La Push, Washington, where depths run 65 to 95 feet across the outer coast. The structure holds resident lingcod, best worked from February through April with jigging using metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs, and supported by live greenling or herring on the bottom. Pacific halibut move through from April into August, taken by drift fishing whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid over the rock. Chinook salmon peak from April through August and coho from May into September, both worked by trolling flashers, spoons, hoochies, and whole or cut-plug herring across the exposed water above the pinnacle. Canary and copper rockfish, along with Pacific cod, round out the mix holding tight to the rocky relief.
