Gunsight Rock is an exposed rocky pinnacle off La Push, Washington, rising through waters that run from the surface down to about 45 feet. The structure holds resident bottomfish including Lingcod, which peaks from February through April, alongside Rockfish, Cabezon, Pacific Cod, and Kelp Greenling across its broken rock terrain. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the pinnacle, while live greenling, herring, or sanddabs fished on the bottom draw the larger fish holding tight to structure. Pacific Halibut move through from April into August and take drift-fished whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid worked along the base of the rock. Chinook Salmon share the same April-to-August window and Coho build from May through September, both worked by trolling flashers, spoons, hoochies, and herring across the outer edge.
