Middle Rock is an outer-exposed sand flat off La Push, Washington, running roughly 15 to 40 feet deep in open Pacific water. The flat draws Chinook Salmon at their peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken by trolling flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons across the shallows. Lingcod hold over the sand and nearby structure with a peak from February through April, and Pacific Halibut move through the same April-to-August window as the Chinook. Anglers work jigs and swimbaits for the lingcod and drift whole herring, octopus, or squid along the bottom for halibut. Pacific Cod and aggregate Rockfish round out the mix over this exposed, open-water ground.
