The Quillayute Needles form an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off La Push, Washington, where the bottom rises through depths of 30 to 180 feet along the open coast. Chinook Salmon peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both worked with trolling using flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons over the structure. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and bite best from February through April, taken by jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs. Black Rockfish stack up from June through September and respond to jigging along the pinnacle's edges, while Pacific Halibut move through from April through August and come to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, and squid on the deeper flats. The exposed rock and steep relief concentrate fish across a wide depth band, giving anglers both shallow rockfish structure and deeper halibut ground within a compact area.
