Duntze Rock is an exposed, rocky drop-off off Neah Bay, Washington, where the bottom falls through depths of 20 to 80 feet along the outer coast. The rock structure draws Chinook Salmon at their peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken primarily by trolling whole herring, spoons, flashers, and hoochies. Pacific Halibut hold near the base of the drop-off from April through July, where drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, and swimbaits works the deeper edges. Lingcod concentrate on the hard bottom from March through May and respond to jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and lead-head jigs with plastic. Pacific Cod fill the winter window from January through March, taken on metal jigs and shrimp flies over the same rocky terrain.
