Koitlah Point is a rocky drop-off on the outer exposed coast near Neah Bay, Washington, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken by trolling whole herring, spoons, flashers, and hoochies along the edge, with mooching cut-plug herring a reliable supporting approach. Pacific Halibut hold over the rock from April through July and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, and swimbaits worked near the bottom. Lingcod concentrate on the structure from March through May, where jigging metal jigs and swimbaits or dropping live greenling produces along the rocky slope. Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and the deeper-dwelling sharks round out a fishery shaped by the point's steep contour and its exposure to open Pacific water.
