Tatoosh Island sits off Neah Bay at the northwest tip of Washington, an outer-exposed rock drop-off where depths plunge from around 330 feet to more than 1,300 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, with trolling whole herring, flashers, and hoochies working the moving water along the structure. Pacific Halibut hold on the bottom from April to July, taken by drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, and swimbaits over the rock. Lingcod concentrate March through May and respond to jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits, while Black Rockfish stack up from April through September and take metal jigs and leadhead jigs. Pacific Cod fill the winter window from January to March, with jigging and shrimp flies producing over the deeper edges of the drop.
