Waadah Island sits at the mouth of Neah Bay, a rocky drop-off where the bottom falls from around 260 to 660 feet along the edge of moderately exposed water. Chinook Salmon peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken by trolling whole herring, flashers, and hoochies or by mooching cut-plug herring over the structure. Lingcod hold on the rock through their March to May peak and respond to metal jigs and swimbaits worked close to the bottom, while Pacific Halibut move through from April to July for drift jigging with leadhead jigs. Pacific Cod fill the winter window from January through March, taking metal jigs and shrimp flies along the same drop. Rockfish, Pollock, and Sixgill Shark round out the mix over this deep rock edge.
