Port of Anacortes Pier 1 Light B marks a rocky pinnacle in the inner protected waters of Marine Area 7 near Oak Harbor, Washington, where the bottom rises through depths of 15 to 40 feet. Chinook and Coho Salmon move through from June to September, while Lingcod peaks in February and March and Pacific Halibut runs strong from March to June. The rock structure holds Black Rockfish, which stay active from February to September, alongside Copper, Canary, and Blue Rockfish. Anglers work the pinnacle with metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits for Lingcod and rockfish, while trolling flashers, spoons, and cut plug herring accounts for the salmon over deeper edges.
