Strawberry Island Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising through 15 to 40 feet of water off Oak Harbor, Washington, in Marine Area 7, with mid-level exposure that keeps the structure fishable across the season. Chinook and Coho Salmon both peak here from June through September, while Pacific Halibut move through in the March to June window and Lingcod concentrate in February and March. Trolling flashers, trolling spoons, hoochies, or cut plug herring covers the salmon over the pinnacle, and mooching whole or cut plug herring works the same water when fish hold tighter to the rock. Halibut respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, or soft plastic swimbaits along the base of the hump, with herring, squid, or octopus on bait as a follow-up. Lingcod hold on the rock through late winter and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs worked close to the structure. Canary Rockfish and Blue Shark also range over the pinnacle.
