Ediz Hook Light marks an outer-exposed drop-off off Port Angeles, where mixed bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from June through August and Coho Salmon run strong June through September, both taken by trolling whole herring, flashers, hootchies, and trolling spoons, with mooching cut-plug herring a reliable supporting approach. Lingcod hold along the structure and peak January through April, best worked with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the rocky sections. Pacific Halibut move through from March into August and respond to drift fishing herring, salmon bellies, octopus, and squid across the deeper reaches of the slope. The steep contour and exposed setting concentrate fish along the edge, where jigging metal jigs doubles as a tactic for both salmon and lingcod.
