Sekiu and Clallam Bay sit along the Strait of Juan de Fuca near Port Angeles, Washington, within Marine Area 5, where fishable water runs from 60 to 350 feet. Lingcod hold over the deeper structure with a peak from January through April, taken by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs or by bait fishing live greenling, herring, and squid. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho Salmon from June to September, both worked by trolling whole herring, spoons, flashers, and hootchies, with mooching cut-plug herring a reliable alternative on slower tides. Pacific Halibut spread the season from March to August across the flats and lower depths, where drift fishing herring, salmon bellies, octopus, and squid covers the bottom effectively. The wide depth range lets anglers shift between shallow jigging and deep drifts as tide and target dictate.
