The Jordan River Mouth sits on the outer-exposed coast near Sooke, British Columbia, where the river meets mixed bottom in water running 5 to 40 feet deep. The spot draws Chinook Salmon and Coho Salmon through the summer, with Chinook peaking from June to August and Coho holding from June into October, while Pacific Halibut move through the deeper mixed ground from March to August. Anglers troll anchovy, herring, and trolling spoons for both salmon species across the exposed shallows, and mooching cut-plug herring works the same water when the current allows. For halibut, drift fishing salmon bellies, herring, or octopus over the mixed bottom is the dominant approach, with jigging metal jigs or swimbaits as a supporting option. The variable depth and open exposure make the shallower margins near the river the natural starting point before working out toward the deeper flats.
