Sheringham Point is an outer-exposed rocky corridor off Sooke, British Columbia, where currents funnel over structure at depths of 40 to 120 feet. Lingcod holds through most of the year with a peak from September to May, while Pacific Halibut moves in strongest from March to August and rockfish work the rocky bottom year-round. Chinook Salmon runs June through August, overlapping with Coho, which stays available June through October. Anglers jig metal jigs and swimbaits over the rock for lingcod and rockfish, and drift salmon bellies, herring, or octopus across the deeper edges for halibut. Trolling anchovy, herring, and spoons through the corridor accounts for both salmon species as they transit the point.
