I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Mid

Mitchell Point is a mid-exposure drop-off in Seattle's DFO Subarea 10, where a mixed bottom falls away through 80 to 200 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from July through September and Coho from June through October, both taken by trolling cut-plug herring, whole herring, flashers with hoochies, or trolling spoons, with mooching as a supporting approach along the break. Lingcod hold on the structure with a January peak and a longer run from February through April, responding to metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and bucktail jigs worked close to the bottom. Pacific Halibut move through from March to August and take drift-jigged metal jigs and leadhead jigs with plastic, while Black Rockfish stay catchable most of the year on jigs and soft plastics over the same mixed ground. The depth gradient concentrates fish along the edge of the drop, making it worth working jigs down the slope and adjusting depth as the tide shifts bait across the structure.
