Point Bolin is a mid-exposure drop-off in Seattle's DFO subarea 10, where a mixed bottom falls away through depths of roughly 170 to 430 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from July through September and Coho Salmon across a long window from June into October, with both species drawn to the edge where the slope breaks. Anglers work Chinook by trolling cut-plug herring, whole herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons, or drop into mooching and metal jigs when fish sit deeper along the wall. Coho respond to the same trolling approach, with flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons pulled over the drop. The rocky mixed bottom also supports Lingcod, best from February through April on metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and Black Rockfish that hold through most of the year and take jigs and soft plastics fished close to structure.
