Battle Point is a rocky drop-off in Seattle's Puget Sound waters within DFO subarea 10, holding depths from 80 to 200 feet along a mid-exposure edge. Chinook Salmon move through the area from July to September and Coho Salmon run from June to October, both taken by trolling cut-plug herring, whole herring, flashers with hoochies, or trolling spoons, with mooching and metal jigs working the same water. Lingcod hold tight to the rock structure with a peak in January and again from February through April, where jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs covers the bottom. Pacific Halibut show from March through August and respond to drift jigging with metal jigs or leadhead jigs tipped with plastic. Black Rockfish stay available nearly year-round across the rock, taken on jigs, swimbaits, and soft plastics fished near the drop.
